For the Woman Who Feels Like She Has No One on Her Side
A letter from one woman who has been there to another

If you are reading this, I want to start with something simple: I see you.
I see you showing up tired. I see you making the meals, holding the family together, answering emails, smiling at church, and saying “I’m okay” while your heart quietly aches. I see you, because I have been you.
There was a season in my life when I felt like no one was on my side. Not a friend, not a family member, sometimes not even myself. If that is where you are today, this is for you.
1. You Are Allowed to Be Tired
For years I believed that strong women never get tired. So I pushed through exhaustion and called it faithfulness.
I have since learned that admitting you are tired is not weakness. It is honesty. Rest is not a reward for when everything is finished. It is something you are allowed to take in the middle of the mess.
2. Ask for Help, Even When It Feels Uncomfortable
Asking for help was one of the hardest things I ever learned to do. I was afraid of being a burden, afraid of being judged, afraid of hearing “no.”
But I discovered that I was never meant to carry everything alone. Sometimes help comes from the people we expect. Sometimes it comes from places we never imagined. Either way, it begins with the courage to say, “I need someone.”
3. Let Go of the “Together” Image
I spent so long trying to look like a woman who had it all figured out. It was exhausting.
The truth is that the women who encouraged me most were not the ones who appeared perfect. They were the ones who were real. When you let go of the image, you make room for real connection, and real healing.
4. Love Your Children Through Your Own Healing
As a single mother, I know the tender, complicated feelings that can rise up when you look at your children. Sometimes they remind us of relationships that did not last or seasons that hurt. And yet, we love them so deeply.
Both can be true. You can carry pain from the past and still pour love into your children today. Healing does not mean you stop feeling. It means you keep loving anyway, and give yourself grace on the days it is harder than others.
5. Remember That You Are Never Truly Alone
On the days when it felt like there was no one beside me, my faith became my anchor. I learned that even when people were absent, I was not abandoned. There was grace in the quiet, strength I did not know I had, and hope waiting for me on the other side of the hard season.
I cannot promise you that the road will be easy. But I can promise you that a painful chapter is not the end of your story.
A Prayer for You
Father, for the woman reading this right now, I ask that You meet her exactly where she is. Where she is tired, give her rest. Where she feels alone, remind her that You are near. Where her heart carries wounds, bring healing, and let her one day look at those scars and see grace. Give her courage for tomorrow, and the strength to keep going. Amen.
Pass It On
If you know a woman who needs to hear this today, send this post to her. A single message saying “thinking of you” can mean more than you will ever know.
And if this spoke to you, I would love to hear from you. What is one thing you wish someone had told you in your hardest season? Share it in the comments or send me a message.
